Badger+ Threads are Reddit-like discussion boards for focused conversations on specific topics that have been optimized for search engine indexing. This aids in new user onboarding by increasing the reach of targeted discussions related to Bitcoin collectibles.
Maybe you're looking for info on "Alkane AMMs" or want to read up on "Ordinal Staking"— you can easily join or spark these public discussions in Badger+ Threads. All users have immediate access to post and comment in Threads after signing up with an X account or by connecting a taproot wallet.
You can filter Threads by most-recent, most-active, or what's trending. You can also search for threads specific to various communities which allows non-holders that are unable to post in Community Pages to still participate in public discussions centered around certain collections and projects. Use these search functions to find a conversation that interests you and chime in!
🖋️ Posting
If you'd like to create a new Thread, you must first unlock the Cub and Forager medals. The Cub medal requires you to reach 5 posts/comments on existing Threads, and the Forager requires 25 posts/comments on existing Threads. After unlocking these two achievement medals, new Thread creation is enabled.
After contributing 25 posts or comments to active conversations, feel free to spark your own! New Thread creation requires you to select an emoji, create a title and description, then add your content. You can then select which category your Thread falls into, and you can even tag a specific community if it fits. Categories are general so choose the one that fits best; that could be ordinals, mining, alkanes, layer 2's, etc. When ready, post your Thread and share it on X to get folks involved in the discussion!
👮♂️ Moderation
We designed Threads for high-signal dialogue, which means they are primarily text based with GIFs and image uploads disabled. While this may feel restrictive, it helps to prevent explicit content, reducing moderation requirements, while upholding a more thoughtful conversational tone.
We're aware that images and GIFs are the lifeblood of Bitcoin art and memes, so they are enabled for Community Pages after a community reaches their boost milestones. Since only badged holders can post in Community Pages, the number of users accessing those features is reduced, thereby mitigating potential abuse.
But our hope for Threads is to see them used to facilitate thoughtful banter and focused discourse around a wide range of topics, for the purpose of informing and educating. While images can be helpful for that, in most cases simple text is able to distill the flow of information.
🔼 Trends
We've baked trending metrics into Threads for better discoverability of what's currently buzzing. The number of posts, comments, upvotes, and members of each Thread counts towards their trending score.
You'll find the most popular Threads nested in the Spotlight panel on the right side of your desktop screen. Or you can tap the 🔥 emoji in the bottom right corner on mobile to view the spotlight panel. Alternatively, you can simply filter the main page by 'Trending' to filter by trending score.
