All About Badger+ Community Badges
⛨ What is Badge-Gating?
On the Badger+ Explore page, you'll find the full set of all currently supported Communities, and their respective badges. Each community badge is represented by the collection/project logo image, which helps prevent wallet tracing since your specific NFT traits and token balances are obfuscated.
These Community Badges serve as proof of on-chain holdings. Users can simply connect a wallet, and our backend queries the Ordiscan API to fetch UTXO's in that address. Our system then extracts inscription, rune, and alkane ID's, to be passed through our database for badge matching.
🔓 How to Unlock Badges
Go to Settings and Connect a Wallet holding supported assets.
Badger+ views UTXOs and matches supported communities.
Badges appear on your Profile page & can be refreshed in Settings.
Each badge a user unlocks by holding a corresponding asset, grants post access to its respective community page. Within your dashboard and settings page, you'll see all your unlocked badges displayed like the image below. This element is also displayed on your public profile for others to see the badges held by various users.
🎨 Adding Communities:
At launch, Badger+ supports 30 of the leading communities across the top 4 Bitcoin meta-protocols. But many more will be added. Our platform allows users to create new communities for any project they wish. Our Creator Toolkit provides on-chain verification tools for project founders at a fraction of the cost of Matrica. In time, we'll add support for Solana and Ethereum so that communities from these chains can also join Badger+. But while we're in beta, we are squarely focused on the Bitcoin ecosystem of assets, in the hopes that we aid in discoverability for these blossoming new meta-protocols.
